Connect Canon PIXMA to WiFi – Easy Step-by-Step Guide

Make sure your Canon PIXMA printer is powered on, the ink tanks or cartridges are installed, and your computer or phone is connected to the same WiFi network you want the printer to use. Keep the printer close to the router during setup.

Problem

Your Canon PIXMA printer is not connecting to WiFi, or you need to set it up on a wireless network for the first time.

Step-by-step solution

  1. On the printer, press the Home button, then select Wi-Fi or Network settings.
  2. Choose Wi-Fi setup → Wireless LAN setup → Cableless setup or Standard setup.
  3. When the WiFi lamp starts flashing, open a browser on your computer or phone and go to ij.start.canon.
  4. Select your PIXMA model and download the Canon setup software (or use the mobile app if you prefer).
  5. Run the software and choose Wireless Connection.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your WiFi network and enter the password carefully.
